The City of Park Ridge, Illinois (38,000 population) seeks a qualified preservation and development professional to direct the division and staff responsible for community development, building, planning and zoning, code enforcement and public health. The division has a fiscal year 2011/2012 budget of $1.2 million, and a staff of 11. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in zoning administration and code enforcement activities. Background in urban planning is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required. Ability to work in participatory management and citizen advisory environment. Staff support to City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission and other Boards. Management and supervisory experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy or related field required. Graduate degree in Urban Planning or Public Administration highly desirable.

Salary will be based on qualifications and the salary range for the position is $72,174--$101,045.
