[ACTIVE] Northern Illinois University, Division of Public Administration, Assistant to the Chair

The nationally ranked Division of Public Administration at Northern Illinois University seeks a highly motivated person to fill the position of Assistant to the Chair. This position reports to the Director of the Division and has primary responsibility for: recruitment and retention of pre-career and mid-career professionals into the MPA and graduate certificate programs, management of the MPA internship program, and funds development to support the mission of the unit. The successful candidate must have a Master of Public Administration degree or equivalent at time of appointment; demonstrated work experience in either public or nonprofit agencies; and ability to travel overnight several times a year for 2-3 day conferences, mainly in the Midwest, strong oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. At least 5 years of professional experience is preferred.

Review of completed applications will begin on Monday, April 23, 2012, and continue until the position is filled. The application package (a letter of interest, a resume, and three current letters of recommendation on letterhead) should be emailed to June Kubasiak .
