Nagle Hartray Danker Kagan McKay Penney
Nagle Hartray Danker Kagan McKay Penney Architects Ltd.
Nagle Hartray was founded in 1966 and quickly earned a reputation for an unusual balance of award-winning design, sound project management, and technical expertise. These qualities have remained the firm’s core values as the practice has matured. Our services include Architecture; Programming; Space Needs Analysis; Feasibility Studies; Master Planning; Budgeting; Site Evaluation, Analysis, & Planning; Interior Design; Fundraising/Referendum Support; Building Commissioning; and Renderings and Models.
In December 2009, Nagle Hartray was the recipient of the Firm Award from the Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The award recognizes an architectural firm's collective achievement rather than a single project.
Nagle Hartray attracts clients across a broad range of public building types including village halls, public libraries, schools, universities, and museums. Each of these projects has been designed with substantial input from stakeholders to assure that they reflect the values of the communities they serve. Our completed projects municipal projects have become the civic symbols imagined by stakeholders from the earliest stages of programming and design.
Our approach may be characterized as pragmatic versus ideological. The tangible results of this approach may be best seen in two aspects of our work. One is the consistency with which we competitively bid projects within budget. This is due largely to our diligence in establishing the right budget at the beginning and in controlling costs throughout the design process. The other can be seen in the aesthetic range of our designs – we do not promote a Nagle Hartray ‘brand’, but rather aim to create architecture that reflects the mission and identity of those for whom it is designed.
