Join Our Finance Team as a Compliance Officer!

The City of Decatur, Illinois is hiring a Compliance Officer with a salary range of $70,000 – $80,000. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining compliance across our organization, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough audits of licenses, taxes, and business compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Comptroller on the annual audit.
  • Serve as a backup for the Comptroller or CFO, ensuring smooth financial operations.
  • Identify and manage compliance risks, develop strategies, and oversee risk-related programs.
  • Provide critical reporting to management and support financial operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (CPA/CPFO is a plus).
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of governmental fund accounting and GASB rules.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
