Summer Airport management Intern – NIU Student
The City of DeKalb is partnering with Northern Illinois University (NIU) and offering an Airport Management internship that is grant funded through the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) work grant study program. Candidates must be a full-time, undergraduate student at Northern Illinois University with a permanent residence in Illinois. The internship is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in the field of aviation, business operations, management, marketing and so much more to gain hands-on experience!
The Airport Intern position assists with a variety programs, projects, initiatives, and administrative tasks to help align and support airport operations.
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree from NIU in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Geography, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Political Science, Non-profit and Non-governmental studies or similar field, hold a valid driver’s license, and have a strong working knowledge of MS Office.
The internship is a temporary, full-time, summer position that will average 40 hours per week and will run from mid-May 2023 to mid-August 2023. Works hours will be agreed upon with the Airport Manager and will generally between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Pay Rate: $15.50 per hour.
