Starting Salary Range: $113,780.00 – $155,907.00 DOQ.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage Planning & Zoning Board Meetings: Facilitate meeting agendas and serve as the primary liaison to the Planning & Zoning Board (PZB).
  • Coordinate Special Projects: Work with third-party consultant project managers on special area and corridor plans, extensive code amendments, and other unique projects.
  • Enhance Customer Experience: Continuously evaluate and improve customer interactions, both in-person and online, ensuring a seamless process through guides and application forms.
  • Implement Division Software and Tools: Customize and manage Tyler EnerGov software for planning, licensing, and permitting, while modernizing and organizing department records.
  • Personnel Management: Effectively manage a diverse team of professionals, ensuring efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in urban planning, public administration, architecture, construction management, geography, political science, real estate, or a closely related field. A master’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role, within business or government settings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reviewing development plans and applying quantitative and geometric reasoning.
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively and establish professional relationships with employees, city officials, consultants, governmental representatives, and the public.
  • Technological Proficiency: High comfort level with local government management systems and technology, particularly EnerGov by Tyler Technologies, Bluebeam, web-based Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Microsoft PowerPoint.
