The City of Des Plaines is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Inspector to join our Community & Economic Development team. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections on various properties to ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with contractors, homeowners, and architects to resolve code violations and offer guidance on plan revisions.
- Inspect electrical systems, appliances, and equipment across residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Support the development of local amendments and regulations related to electrical safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and electrical system inspections.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical codes, along with residential and commercial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with plumbing, carpentry, cement work, and mechanical systems.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical plans and blueprints.
- Proven expertise in inspecting electrical systems for safety and compliance.
