City of Geneva, Administrative Analyst

The City of Geneva is seeking an energetic and team-oriented individual to serve as an Administrative Analyst in the Administrative Services Department. The ideal candidate should be ready to take the next step in their career and make an impact.

The Administrative Analyst reports to the Assistant City Administrator/Director of Administrative Services and is responsible for assisting with a variety of administrative, risk management, and strategic planning-related activities. The position provides complex analytical and research assistance in support of collective bargaining, policy development, process improvement and performance management. Primary responsibilities include assisting with general liability claims, updating employee intranet, records retention, supporting the implementation of sustainability strategies and strategic plan goals, acting as a project manager for RFP/RFQ processes, evaluating and assisting with software implementation, survey administration, member of the budget team, and other duties as assigned.

As a key member of the Administrative Services team, this position has responsibility for time-sensitive processes and participates in planning meetings, attends advisory Board and Commission meetings, coordinates safety-related training, and implements strategies to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting. The position frequently interacts with the public, responding to general inquiries and public incident reports. Position responsible for preparing special reports, manuals, handouts, flyers, newsletters, and other documents for communicating policy or program information.

Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in public administration, business administration, finance, human resources, or other related fields. A master’s degree is desirable but not required. Two to four years of progressively responsible experience; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the essential functions of the job. Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong customer service, project management, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience with legislative research, risk management, and software applications including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tyler New World, Adobe, WordPress, Canva, and CivicPlus is desirable.
