This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our city, working closely with the City Administrator, local businesses, and residents to foster community development and enhance the quality of life for all. This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $90,000 with an excellent benefits package.

As our Assistant Administrator/Community Development Director, you will be at the heart of exciting developments, from attracting new businesses to enhancing our city’s services and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Leadership: Assist in the daily management and administration of the City and Utility, ensuring that policies and programs are effectively implemented.
- Zoning and Planning: Serve as the City’s Zoning Administrator, coordinating Plan Commission meetings, and working closely with the Building Inspector to enforce zoning codes.
- Economic Development: Identify and attract new businesses and investments to Plymouth, and work collaboratively with the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC).
- Partnering on Communications: Partner with the City Clerk to lead the City’s communications program, including social media, newsletters, and the website, ensuring transparency and engagement with our residents.
- Code Enforcement: Oversee property maintenance ordinances, ensuring our community remains clean and welcoming.
- Special Event Permitting: Work with City staff to develop and manage special event permitting, fostering a vibrant community atmosphere.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, planning, business management, or a related field.
- Substantial high-level experience in management functions within a municipality or a comparable organization.
- Knowledge of municipal operations, zoning codes, and economic development.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
