The City of Rolling Meadows Community Development Department is seeking qualified applicants to serve as the Department’s next Clerk/Typist. This position is an entry-level administrative assistant and works as part of a team of three public-facing administrative professionals within a department of ten staff. Work is primarily in-person at Rolling Meadows City Hall (3600 Kirchoff Road). Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and this position will report either 30 minutes prior to or after hours for opening and closing duties.
Examples of common duties include: issuing licenses for City businesses and rental properties; receiving building permit applications and scheduling inspections; responding to business and resident inquiries; and filing, scanning, and maintaining public records.
The hiring range for this position is $46,596 to $53,250 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience. The City’s benefits include participation in IMRF and two 457(b) retirement plan options; two HMO health & vision options (City pays 85% of premiums); and generous leave. This position is represented by AFSCME Council 31 and pay and benefits are determined by AFSCME’s collective bargaining agreement with the City. The maximum salary for this position is up to $66,562. The salary range is adjusted annually, and employees are considered for raises annually on the basis of performance.
