McHenry County Division of Finance seeks an experience professional to join their team as a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant. Under the direction and guidance of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant position works on an independent basis planning, coordinating and conducting complex professional accounting duties in the preparation of financial reports and/or statements on the County’s current and future financial condition.
Salary Range: $77,307-$85,038 +/- D.O.Q.
The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager in preparing the year end reports including the comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), single audit, popular annual financial report (PAFR), files all required reports with various Federal, State and Local Agencies as required, responsible for analytical review and monthly reconciliation of all funds, including cash, accounts receivable and liabilities with any discrepancies being reported immediately to the CFO, the topic expert on all GASB pronouncements including the training of all finance staff and interdepartmental accounting staff on the required changes to be addressed in the financial reporting to the County.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, must have Three or more years of experience working in finance for a compatible size government or Five years or more experience in a mid-management position for a private company.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (Preferred)
- Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) – Optional
