NSMJAWA WATER PLANT OPERATOR
The Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency (NSMJAWA), a government organization, is looking to fill the position of a full-time 12-hr night-shift Water Operator at its O’Hare Airport Main Pumping Station location. The night-shift operator works 7 PM-7AM overnight shift with eight (8) hrs of overtime, each pay period. The primary duty is to operate and manage pump and equipment control to supply water to seven Chicago northwest suburbs.
The full-time job comes with great benefits including IMPRF pension, health insurance, paid vacations and sick days, and flexible spending accounts. Position requires a High school diploma or G.E.D with one to three years of mechanical or electrical experience, preferably working in water or wastewater, or industrial/manufacturing or equivalent operations shift work. A valid State of Illinois or equivalent driver’s license is required. Possession of State of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Class “C” or higher Public Water Supply Operator’s License is a plus. If hired without an IEPA Class C or higher Operator’s License, need to obtain within twelve months of appointment date for continued employment.
The full-time position pays $27.64/hour to $42.13/hour with the night-shift Operator receiving a premium pay of $1.50/hour. The position remains open until filled.
