Title: Assistant Finance Director

Job Summary: The Assistant Finance Director will work in the Finance Department under the supervision of the Finance Director. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of complex supervisory, professional, administrative, and technical functions related to general accounting, budget development and maintenance, financial reporting, resolving operational and customer service problems, and other fiscal activities. This position will also plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities of Finance Department personnel.
The Village’s total annual budget for the current Fiscal Year 2022 is approximately $83.6 million. The Village’s budget is made up of a general fund ($39.6M), enterprise fund ($8.8M), debt service fund, capital projects fund, internal service fund, fiduciary fund, and special revenue funds, which include Motor Fuel Tax and 3 TIF districts.
Requirements: The requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of municipal accounting experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience. A Master’s Degree in Finance, Public or Business Administration and/or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred, but not required. Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is also preferred, but not required.
