Village of Glendale Heights, Foreman WWTP

The Public Works Department has a position available for a Foreman at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

This position works under the direct supervision of the Division Manager, Deputy Director and Director of Public Works and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled technical and supervisory work in the performance, operation, maintenance and repair of the wastewater treatment facilities and systems. Maintains a variety of Village, USEPA and IEPA records relating to reporting requirements, pretreatment program, inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, work completed, etc. On occasion if necessary operates light and medium-sized construction and power equipment, such as snowplow and de-icing truck, vactor jetter/vactor truck, front end loader, and backhoe/loader. Have the ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment and instrumentation as it pertains to the WWTP. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisory staff, employees, other departments and the public.

This position is part of the Villages snow and ice operations.

Previous experience in a Municipality Wastewater Facility is preferred. Electrical Certification and NIMS Certification desirable. This position requires to be on-call for emergencies out of regular work hours on a periodic basis throughout the year.

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent and six (6) years of experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants with wastewater plant and collection system operational experience and an Illinois Class 1 Wastewater Operators license or the ability to obtain one within six months is required.

Valid State Driver’s license, with CDL Class-B (or the ability to obtain CDL Class-B within 6 months of hire date) certifications strongly desired at time of application.
Hourly salary range is $39.96 – $50.84, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a non-union, exempt position. The Village of Glendale Heights offers an excellent benefit package including health and dental insurance.
