The Village of Homewood is looking to fill the Street Supervisor position within its Public Works Department. The Village of Homewood is a well-managed and well-governed community that provides effective, efficient, and timely municipal services to its residents, stakeholders, and customers. The Street Supervisor position administers and supervises the street, traffic control, drainage, and snow and ice operations of the Public Works Department. They are also responsible for assigning personnel, equipment, and materials to efficiently and effectively complete tasks. Work includes, but is not limited to, evaluating performance of subordinates; administering and enforcing departmental work rules and labor contract provisions; maintaining records of divisional maintenance activities, including cost and man-hour data of daily work by crews; and performing a variety of special projects as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and a minimum experience of five years in public works operations or similar field; ideal candidate has previous supervisory experience within a public works department. Applicants must be able to obtain a valid Illinois commercial driver’s license Class A with air brake and tanker endorsements within six months of hire. The position is full-time exempt with a starting salary range of $86,642 to $99,191.
