The Village of Itasca is seeking qualified candidates to fill the full-time position of Administrative Assistant. Under the general supervision of the Finance Director, the Administrative Assistant is a key position in the Administration Department primarily responsible for processing accounts payable and payroll on a bi-monthly basis. The position will be cross-trained and will assist in staffing the Village Hall front desk and processing accounts receivable as needed. The position will also be responsible for performing assigned administrative duties including processing special event permits, assisting in the completion of FOIA requests, maintaining records, assisting in the preparation of Village Board meetings, maintaining office and kitchen supplies, coordinating facility work orders, and performing such tasks assigned by the Finance Director and Village Administrator as needed.
The successful candidate will possess a basic understanding of accounting and human resources principles and practices related to processing accounts payable and payroll. The candidate will be able to effectively prioritize their work and adapt to new work assignments. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills and excellent customer service when it comes to serving Village staff and residents.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. College coursework or direct experience in performing basic finance/accounting operations in an office setting is required. Municipal experience is preferred.
The starting salary for this position is $50,000 +/- DOQ plus an excellent benefits package.
