Village of Itasca, Human Resource Generalist/Office Coordinator

About the Position:
The Village of Itasca is hiring a full-time Human Resources Generalist/Office Coordinator. This position manages all aspects of the human resource function  and coordination of office administration. The position reports to the Finance Director. The Village workforce consists of 60 full-time, 3 part-time and seasonal employees in four union and non-union departments-Police, Public Works, Community Development, Finance and Administration.

Position Expectations:
The position has the following key responsibilities.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for all full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions.
• Benefits Administration – for Village of Itasca, Itasca Library and Retirees.
o Manages Medical Insurance and Retirement programs and serves as key point of contact for employees and retirees related to resolution of issues.
o Monitor ACA requirements, administration of insurance renewals, applications.
o Tracking employee PTO reporting.
o Assist with HRA reconciliations.
• Administration of new staff onboarding and maintenance of employee documents.
o Assist with onboarding of new interim staffing employees; maintain files; prepare and maintain agreement and renewals.
• Assist with employee annual review system administration.
• Assist with Employee Manual maintenance.
• Risk management point of contact and serve as chair for Safety and Wellness Committee.
• Assist with Job Descriptions updates.
• Back up payroll function and answer employee or client questions.
• Responsible for coordinating front desk operations as assigned.
• Serve as FOIA Officer.
• Manages retention of records
• Assists with the processing of liquor license applications.
• The position will be cross-trained and will assist in staffing the Village Hall front desk, processing payroll, and performing such tasks assigned by the Finance Director and Village Administrator as needed.

Position Qualifications:
The position requires:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience, within a municipal setting preferred.
• Paylocity experience a plus.
• HR certification is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range will depend on qualifications.
