The Village of Lake Bluff, IL (pop: 5,722), a Chicago suburban community where its small size, unpretentious charm, and easygoing spirit sets it apart from the rest of the North Shore, seeks a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Management Analyst position within the Administration Department.
In addition to providing administrative support to Village Administration, the Management Analyst manages short and long-term projects, conducts research and analysis, and assists other Village Departments. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, exercise good judgment, and work independently as well as part of a team. This position reports to the Assistant to the Village Administrator.
Essential Duties
- Supports Administration, Finance, Community Development, Public Works, Police, and Fire Departments
- Assists the Village Administrator with the development of all Village Board packets
- Performs research-based, technical, financial, and/or policy-driven analysis
- Serves as a staff liaison to Village Advisory Boards and internal Safety Committee
- Leads the planning and execution of Village special events
- Oversees record retention and codification processes
- Serves as primary Freedom of Information Act Officer
- Assists with Department budget development and management
- Supports Village-wide communication/public information activities
- Provides excellent customer service at the front counter, over the phone, and through email
- Assists with the implementation of various IT software and system upgrades
- Attends and participates in meetings as a representative of the Village
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education. A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, urban planning, or related field is required. A master’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, urban planning or a related field is preferred.
- Experience. One to two years of relevant work experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range is $73,000 to $90,000
