Village of Lemont, Accounting Assistant

The Village of Lemont, Illinois seeks qualified candidates for the part-time Accounting Assistant position in the Finance Department. Primary responsibilities are processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.  In addition to fiscal accounting work, clerical duties are included, such as assisting with Front Desk customer reception and telephone calls as needed.

The part-time Accounting Assistant reports to the Accountant II. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, generally 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for a total of 27.5 hours of work per week. Qualifications for the position include an Accounting associate’s degree and one to three years of accounting work in an accounting environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Strong technical and computer skills are necessary along with the ability to adapt to new technologies.  Qualified applicants will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

Starting pay for this part-time non-exempt position is $23.00 per hour.  Benefits include paid time off and pension contributions.
