Description of Primary Purpose: The Village of Libertyville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager in the Public Works Department’s Engineering Division. The Project Manager will report to the Village Engineer and be responsible for the project design, bidding and construction oversight of the annual roadway rehabilitation program, annual sanitary & storm sewer maintenance projects (point repairs, lining & structure repairs); reviewing and approving private utility permits, coordination with contractors, private developers & the general public and overall assistance with the Engineering Division’s daily operations.


Education and Experience: The successful candidate shall possess at a minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in infrastructure project design and management and applicable education consisting of either an associate degree in applied sciences.  A B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and licensure (E.I.T. or State of Illinois P.E.) may be substituted for the required experience.


Preferred Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate must demonstrate thorough knowledge of standard engineering practices, including project budgeting and procedures; general computer operations including advanced knowledge of AutoCAD to prepare design plans and Microsoft Office Suite to prepare contract specifications and property owner notification letters; construction observation experience; and understanding of applicable laws and ordinances related to engineering and construction operations, principles and practices.


Required Certificates, License and Registrations: A valid State driver’s license is required.
