The Village of Long Grove is a vibrant community in Lake County. The Village has 8,366 residents and a strong sense of community. The Communications Management Analyst is a key member of the Village team and will be responsible for developing and implementing the Village’s communications strategy. The Communications Management Analyst will manage the Village’s website and social media accounts, write and edit content for various audiences, and provide administrative support to the Village Manager and other members of the Village Hall team.
The Communications Management Analyst will need to be able to take the initiative and work independently. The Communications Management Analyst will be responsible for various tasks and must be able to manage their time effectively and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Village’s communications strategy
- Manage the Village’s website and social media accounts
- Write and edit content for a variety of audiences, including the Village’s website, social media accounts, newsletters, and press releases
- Provide administrative support to the Village Manager and other members of the Village Manager’s Office
- Respond to public inquiries and complaints
- Attend and represent the Village at public meetings and events, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
While we prefer candidates with a formal education in communications, we are also open to candidates with significant life and career experience in a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, or social media
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Adobe InDesign Experience is a plus
- Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Nextdoor, Twitter, and LinkedIn
Additional Responsibilities
- Managing the office, including scheduling appointments, maintaining files, and ordering supplies
- Communicating with residents, homeowners’ associations, and businesses
- Being the main point of contact for resident inquiries
- Additional tasks as need
- Take Initiative and be able to work independently
The Village Manager’s Office
The Village Manager’s Office is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Village, including providing administrative support to the Village Manager, overseeing the Village’s departments, and managing the Village’s finances. The Village Manager’s Office is a small, close-knit team and the Communications Management Analyst will be a key team member.
