The Village of Long Grove (population 8,366) is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Management Analyst position.
The Management Analyst is a highly responsible position within the office of the Village Manager. Under the general direction of the Village Manager and other members of the management team, but using independent judgement, this position is responsible for assisting with the development, administration, and coordination of various organizational functions and programs. These activities include working with Village departments on specific projects, communicating goals and objectives to Village departments and the general public, and completing special projects.
Initial areas of focus for this position will include overseeing the Village’s resident Service Request System (SRS), receiving and responding to Freedom of Information Act requests, serving as staff liaison to the Conservancy and Scenic Corridor Committee, and others as assigned. This position will also focus on the management of the Village’s communications program, grant pursuit efforts, and sustainability programs. Long Grove operates under a limited government model with a small staff; therefore, this position provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in many different facets of local government.
The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have proven technical skills in various software applications including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint. The successful candidate must be able to prioritize work responsibilities and work independently as well as part of a team in a small office environment.
The degree requirements of this position include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, political science, or related field. The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000. Starting salary will be within the salary range and will be dependent on qualifications. This position also includes participation in the benefits package that the Village offers its employees, which currently includes health / dental / vision insurance, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
