Village of Montgomery, Accountant

The Village of Montgomery is seeking applicants wishing to join our top-rated Finance team in the new position of Accountant. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for performing professional governmental accounting duties, including the detailed analysis, preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports.

The Village is seeking a dependable, motivated, and highly organized team player with a proven record of attention to detail and integrity. The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. Prior experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Have at least four (4) years of accounting experience, preferably in governmental accounting.
  • Be able to analyze and interpret financial data and maintain efficient and effective financial systems and accounting procedures.
  • Have considerable experience with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn financial software to proficiency.

Starting pay for the Accountant position is $29.11 hourly ($60,549 annually). Annual pay increases are merit based.
