The Village’s Human Services Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Health Nurse.
The Public Health Nurse is an exempt position requiring diverse knowledge and experience in many areas of nursing from pediatrics to gerontology. The Public Health Nurse provides primary health education to Mount Prospect residents in a variety of settings. The Public Health Nurse works with individual residents and families in the office, at the Community Connections Center, in clinics and in patient homes to help them obtain a better understanding of their medical condition and its treatment, to learn about resources in the community, to assist residents with their needs and to act as a patient advocate when necessary. The Public Health Nurse is responsible for conducting health screening clinics, reducing the spread of communicable disease and responding to health related issues in a disaster.
