WE ARE HIRING! Join our team and become our new IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, responsible for general support day-to-day end-user IT support, including but not limited to troubleshooting, triaging, diagnosing, and resolving various software and hardware issues in person, via remote connection or telephone, or otherwise approved tools.
Some info about the position…
- Provides technology support to Village staff and elected officials experiencing technology-related issues.
- Requires travel between Village facilities and properties to complete required work.
- Explains technical issues to non-technical individuals and provides end-user guidance.
- Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and replaces IT hardware, including but not limited to computers/mobile devices, telephones and Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS).
- Installs and replaces network cabling and networking equipment including Wi-Fi devices.
- Troubleshoots basic IT network issues, including tracing and terminating cables.
- Installs and troubleshoots video monitoring systems and access control systems.
- Updates and maintains IT Support Tickets and Asset Inventory.
Qualified candidates should…
- Have an associate’s degree in related field; bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Have at least two (2) years of prior IT support experience.
- Have an A+, Networking+ certificate; CCNA preferred.
- Be able to maintain CJIS compliance throughout employment.
- Be proficient in the use of computers as well as Microsoft Office products.
- Be able to distinguish and demonstrate understanding of Network OSI Layers.
- Have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to exert in excess of 70 pounds occasionally and in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Be able to do frequent climbing, crouching, standing, talking, reading, writing, hearing and handle frequent use of repetitive motions.

- Full salary range is $69,964.69 – $91,504.62 per year (salary upon hire is typically at the bottom of the pay range within the Collective Bargaining Agreement)
