The Village of Roselle, IL, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago (population 22,763), seeks an Assistant Finance Director in the Finance Department. The position reports directly to the Finance Director and performs a variety of complex professional and administrative tasks including developing, planning, organizing, overseeing, and managing the Village’s Finance Department. Key responsibilities include overseeing the annual audit process, budget development and monitoring, applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information, and preparing financial reports. This position must work well independently and with teams, while providing excellent customer service and verbal and written communications skills.
Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), supplemented by a Master’s Degree in same or CPA License or Certificate, and three to five (3-5) years of experience in governmental finance and accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and financial accounting software. Experience with Munis software preferred.
The salary range for the full-time position is $97,369 – $149,154 and the Village offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance and IMRF pension.
