The Village of Winfield, Illinois is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Finance Director. Winfield, with a population of approximately 10,000 residents, is a western suburb of Chicago in DuPage County. The Finance Director serves as the primary financial resource to the Village President, Board of Trustees, and staff. Under the direction of the Village Manager, the Finance Director oversees the Finance Department including Accounting, Purchasing, Utility Billing, and Fiscal Management. The successful applicant will have a comprehensive understanding and successful track record in the full range of municipal finance. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a closely related field, as well as a minimum of seven (7) years professional, governmental work experience, including supervisory experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience. A Master’s degree and/or related certification such as a CPA are desirable.
