Westchester Park District, Illinois (Pop. 16,892) seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Finance Director. The hiring range for this position is $72,000 – $85,000 plus excellent benefits. Knowledge and experience in bookkeeping and generally accepted principles of governmental accounting is a must.
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, independently performs a variety of complex supervisory, professional, analytical, and technical duties related to the Accounting and Finance functions of the Park District. Responsibilities include accounting, annual audit, accounts payable, budget, cash management, and assisting in special projects as assigned.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required. At least 3 years of increasingly responsible accounting experience in fiscal management, municipal accounting, or in a closely related field of experience including at least two years of experience at a management or policy-making level with supervisory responsibility for management and professional staff is required.
This position is a salaried position and exempt under FLSA. This role is required to work onsite.
The successful candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of the principles and theory of accounting and auditing as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) standards. The Finance Director will regularly interact with elected officials and department heads and must be an approachable and collaborative teambuilder who possesses open and positive communication skills.
