Winnetka Park District, Assistant Manager for Operations

GovHRUSA is accepting resumes from qualified candidates for the full-time position of Assistant Manager for Operations for the Winnetka Park District, IL. The Park District offers a hybrid workstructure. The selected candidate will perform a variety of administrative functions including liaison functions with the Park District Board of Commissioners, processing requests from the public, assisting the Human Resources Manager with various projects and facilitating communication from the Executive Director’s office to the internal organization as well as the general public. Other responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the liaison with outside contractor for public information requests.
  • Serve as the administrative point of contact with Cook County for local election of Park Board Commissioners. (Executive Director is the statutory election official).
  • Coordinate administrative duties of Park Board meetings including review of draft meeting minutes, collaborating on needed technology for meetings and other related duties.

About the Winnetka Park District: The Winnetka Park District serves more than 14,500 residents and operates the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center, Winnetka Golf Club and driving range, Skokie Playfield Complex, Winnetka Ice Arena, Winnetka Platform Tennis, the Green Bay Trail, a boat launch, three swimming beaches and a dog beach, and numerous park sites. Recreation programs include athletics, outdoor nature programs, one-day workshops, day camps, birthday party services, and special events.

Position Requirements. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or recreation from an accredited college, university, or technical school, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Relevant experience in a responsible administrative position with a local government is preferred.

Compensation and Application Process: The starting salary range for this position is $59,000 -$72,000, which can be adjusted to align with an individual’s qualifications and experience; and the Park District offers a benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 457 plan(s), IMRF Pension, tuition reimbursement, vacation, holidays, sick time, and personal days.
