Forest View (population 792) Cook County, is seeking its next Village Administrator. The Village of Forest View is located west of Chicago at the intersection of Harlem Ave. and I-55.
The Village is a full service, Home Rule, community providing full time police and fire protection/EMT services to its residents.
The Village employs 18 full-time and 20 part-time staff, with an annual budget of $8.1 million. Departments include Police, Fire/EMT, Public Works, Building, Finance, and Administration. The Village Administrator is appointed by and reports to the Village President and a six-member Board of Trustees, elected at large to staggered four-year terms. The previous Village Administrator served the community for 3 years.
- Candidates should have substantial experience in municipal operations, including financial management and economic development.
- Experience with annexing existing unincorporated industrial properties will be extremely beneficial.
- Forest View expects a highly engaged, approachable village administrator who will demonstrate commitment to service excellence demonstrating a resourceful “can-do” attitude. They must possess excellent interpersonal skills, welcoming style with the community and staff, and a proven record in effective service delivery and creative problem solving.
- Refined written and public presentation skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented management style is essential.
- The position requires a bachelor’s degree in public policy, business administration, finance, or related field. A master’s degree is strongly preferred. At least three years in an executive leadership role in local government is required.
Salary: The Village Administrator salary is $115,000, DOQ. The benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and IMRF pension. Residency is not required.
