Village of Glendale Heights, Deputy Director of Finance

The Village of Glendale Heights, Illinois has a great opportunity for a motivated and qualified applicant for the position of Deputy Director of Finance.  The Deputy Director of Finance works under the general direction of the Finance Director and the broad policy guidance of the Village President and Board of Trustees.  This position also exercises general supervision over assigned staff.

The Deputy Director of Finance performs a variety of complex supervisory, professional, administrative and technical accounting and finance functions in maintaining the fiscal records and systems of the Village and applying analytical skills to assist in special projects and initiatives.  This is accomplished by overseeing financial audits, assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, supervising  day-to-day operations, managing the financial system, maintaining the internal control environment, assisting in special projects, and preparing and filing various reports and schedules.

Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business or related field; and

  • Five years’ experience in financial administration, including supervisory experience; MPA/MBA or CPA are desirable; or
  • Combination or of education and experience;
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders;
  • Experience using Munis Financial Software a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $109,241 to $152,921 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
