The Village Mayor and Board of Trustees are seeking a Manager to assist them with the renaissance now happening in Niles.
The Opportunity: Village Manager
This is your chance to lead a full-service, home rule municipality with an $80 million operating budget, $36 million capital improvement plan and approximately 465 employees. Niles operates under a Village Board of Trustees form of government with a strong tradition of professional administration. The Board of Trustees values innovation, strong budgeting skills, and effective board relationships.
The Village Manager is the chief administrative officer, overseeing day-to-day operations, implementing Board policy, and building strong, productive relationships across departments and the community. With a vibrant economy, robust infrastructure investments, and new development opportunities, Niles is primed for a Manager who thrives on action, energy, and results.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the CAO of the Village, overseeing departments, operations, and performance outcomes
- Implement strategic goals in collaboration with the Village Board
- Champion economic development, fiscal sustainability, and staff development
- Lead multi-disciplinary departments in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
- Cultivate a high-performance culture through innovation and accountability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Law, Engineering, or a related field (Masters Degree preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive executive municipal leadership experience
- Strong financial, personnel, and capital project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations capabilities

Compensation + Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $225,000 to $240,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Village of Niles offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a village vehicle, health insurance, retirement, paid leave, and professional development support.
