The Village of Lake in the Hills Administration Department welcomes applications for the position of IT Specialist, with an emphasis on business application administration. Under the direction of the Assistant Village Administrator, and alongside the Village’s contracted Managed Service Provider (MSP), the IT Specialist is anticipated to become an internal expert on a variety of municipal software platforms, supporting all departments including Administration, Finance, Community Development, Parks & Recreation, Police, and Public Works. Duties include software implementation, evaluation, and process improvement. The position will be expected to assist in the rollout of new solutions, along with the optimization of existing solutions. The IT specialist will provide day-to-day support to the organization, assist with hardware management, train existing and new staff on software solutions, and have an active role in the annual budget process.

Qualifications
Associate’s degree with course work in Information Technology or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible related IT experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous municipal experience.
- Experience with municipal technology solutions including New World Systems, Cartegraph, DACRA, Axon, GovQA, NeoGov, Laserfiche.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert or similar
- CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications
