Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with the oversight of the fleet division for the Public Works Department. Provides support for a variety of vehicle and equipment maintenance projects including inspection, parts procurement, inventory and minor vehicle and equipment repair work. Performs routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment, maintaining vehicle repair records and assisting with the department fleet budget. Prepares and maintains various records and reports. This position is also on call for snow plowing as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Establishes maintenance schedules for all vehicles, generators and equipment
- Prepares maintenance records for all work performed on Village vehicles and equipment
- Mechanical Diagnostic skills/Use of power tools/ Electrical diagnosis/Repairs (480v/230v/120v)
- Participates in Village related special events.
- Snow and Ice Control (Anti-Ice, Plowing, Salting)
- This is an ON-CALL (24/7 emergency response) position.
Minimum Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within (1) year of hire date. Requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in automotive repair or preventative maintenance. ASE Master Certifications are preferred but not required.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $71,700-$102,400 +/- dependent upon qualifications. The expected starting salary for this position is between $71,700 and $85,700.
