The Village of Round Lake Beach, Illinois (population 28,000), located in western Lake County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Deputy Village Administrator & Human Resources Manager.
The Deputy Village Administrator serves as a key member of the Village’s leadership team, providing critical support to the Village Administrator in overseeing daily operations, strategic planning, and community engagement. This position also serves as the Human Resources (HR) Manager and is responsible for managing the Village’s IT needs, ensuring efficient and effective operations in both areas. The role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented, and innovative professional committed to enhancing the Village’s operations and supporting its workforce.
Requirements for the position include a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred); At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in local government, HR management, or a combination of these fields; Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and laws; Proven leadership, project management, and organizational skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders; Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and HRIS systems.
Starting Salary Range $124,500 to $143,175, based on qualifications and experience. The Village also offers a generous benefit package which includes paid time off as well as competitive health insurance options, the ability to participate in a 457 deferred comp plan, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund program (IMRF).
