The Village of Sugar Grove Community Development Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Planning & Zoning Administrator.
Under the direction of the Community Development Director, this position will perform a variety of routine and complex administrative, technical and professional work in the current and/or long-range planning programs of the Village related to the development and implementation of land use and related municipal plans and policies. This position provides technical and professional advice; makes presentations to supervisors, boards, commissions, civic groups and the general public. Provides information on land use applications, ordinances, codes, plans and related planning programs, services or regulations to architects, engineers, developers, contractors, owners, community groups and interested persons.
Position works in accordance with the applicable statues of the State of Illinois and local municipal ordinances. Employee functions independently, referring specific problems to the supervisor only where clarification or interpretation of Village policy or procedure is required. Employee may provide direction to employees within field of expertise. Position may have responsibility for managing contracted consulting firms.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in land-use planning, urban planning, regional planning, or closely related field, and
- Two years of experience in municipal planning, or
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience, additional education substituting on a year for year basis for the required experience.
Special Requirements:
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Compensation
Anticipate Hiring Range $76,471-$82,505 DOQ.
