The Village of Deerfield, Illinois (Pop. 19,197) seeks applicants for the full-time position of Maintenance Operator Trainee or Maintenance Operator I. Hours are generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with overtime as needed.
Position and salary will be dependent on years of experience.
Maintenance Operator Trainee – Requires 1 year of experience, $63,872 – $78,904
Maintenance Operator I – Requires 3 years of experience, $74,998 – $92,642
$2,500 signing bonus for new hire who currently possesses a valid CDL Class A Driver’s License with airbrake and tanker endorsement.
Under the direction of the Water Division Supervisor, or crew leader, the Maintenance Operator is responsible to perform a variety of general labor duties such as water main break repairs, water service line repairs, fire hydrant operation and repairs, removal and replacement of asphalt and concrete materials, landscaping, snow and ice control, and a variety of other miscellaneous duties. Knowledge of SCADA system operations is desirable.
