The Village of Morton Grove is seeking a MANAGEMENT ANALYST for the Finance Department. The position will report to the Director of Finance. Under the Director, this position is a key operational member of the Village’s management team. The individual performs a wide variety of complex, analytical, financial support, management tasks and special project coordination requiring initiative and independent judgment. Routine job tasks may be specific to the operational department to which the position is attached i.e. Finance Department.
Essential Requirements
- The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum one year experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education) in areas such as project administration, data and research analysis, public policy implementation, communication strategies or budget and financial planning with demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience. Experience within municipal government administration is strongly preferred.
- Responds to a variety of resident inquiries, complaints and requests for services and promotes and maintains responsive community relations;
- Performs management analyses and prepares research reports and other policy documents to serve as a basis for action by the Village;
- Assists with administration of Village benefits including enrolling employees and retirees in insurance programs, ensuring accurate billing and coordinating with payroll for employee deductions;
- Manages the collection of Village receivables as directed;
- Assists with preparation and review of annual and capital budget, assists with the preparation of budgets as directed, assists with monthly monitoring of budget expenditures, and provides assistance to the Finance Department as needed;
- As directed by the Finance Director and Assistant Finance Director, conducts extensive research, analysis, and preparation of reports.
